VP of Communications Chris Johnson to appear on Radio Margaritaville
The Fuller Center for Housing’s resident Parrot Head — as die-hard fans of Jimmy Buffett are known — is appearing on Radio Margaritaville this week as a guest DJ for the station’s “Fruitcake on the Radio” show, a name derived from a 1990s Buffett song.
“Of course, I find a way to weave The Fuller Center into my appearance,” said Johnson, whose first segment includes an anecdote about a Fuller Center build in Nicaragua back in 2015 when the volcano Momotombo provided a little excitement with its first eruption in 100 years — though the lava flow and ash clouds proved more spectacle than dangerous.
The “Fruitcake on the Radio” show gives Buffett fans to play four of their favorite songs and talk about how they relate to their lives. The nearly half-hour show airs Thursday, April 6, at 10 a.m. EDT and then replays at midnight on April 7, 4 p.m. on Easter Sunday and 8 p.m. on Monday.
Radio Margaritaville, with more than 3 million weekly listeners, can be heard on SiriusXM Channel 24, Dish Network channel 6031 and Radio Margaritaville’s free live stream.
