
IN THE NEWS: Making Valentine's Day special for elderly woman in need
(Henry Daily Herald) Members of the community are working to restore the Stockbridge, Georgia, home of 80-year-old Mildred Kelley, who lives in the 850-square-foot house with two of her adult children, but their home has been in disrepair with a fire-damaged kitchen, leaky plumbing and exposed electrical wires.Organizers with the Henry County Fuller Center for Housing Inc. are galvanizing the community to have the heavy renovation project completed by Valentine’s Day.
Henry County Fuller Center President Shane Persaud explained that the organization was approached by Janet Turner, a St. Vincent DePaul volunteer who encouraged members to help Kelley, a Henry County native, born in the Kelleytown community.
