Undeterred volunteers slosh through rainy first day of Legacy Build in West Point, Georgia

WEST POINT, Georgia — If rain is a blessing from God, then volunteers at the 2021 Millard Fuller Legacy Build hosted by the Chattahoochee Fuller Center Project ended the day drenched in blessings. The rain started before sunrise, beginning a pattern of downpours and light drizzles that alternated all day long.

Yet, volunteers determined to get two new homes build during the build pressed on, and by the time Monday was over, the first-day progress was on par with similar blitz builds.

  • I came to visit as I was en route from Destin to Atlanta, but was too late! I did not arrive until about 4:40 and was sorry to miss seeing all the wonderful home builders, but was so happy to see all the progress that has been made today. Oyee!!! Hoping for better weather the rest of the week. Keep up the great work.
