Tiny house built by Auburn University students delivered to Chattahoochee Fuller Center Project
LANETT, Alabama — It may stand out as an unusual featured in the parking lot of the Chattahoochee Fuller Center Project’s ReUse Store on Millard Fuller Memorial Highway, but the tiny house built by Auburn University Building Science Department students will soon blend into the nearby Plant City community as a transitional home for a single mother and her 3-year-old daughter. The CFCP is working in partnership with the Chambers County Circle of Care for Families, using the 300-square-foot, modern-equipped home as a place for families to get back on their feet until they can find a permanent home of their own. The Valley Times-News has a complete report on how this partnership between two nonprofits has been talked about for years but gained speed because of connections the CFCP made during its tornado recovery work in nearby Lee County in 2019 — connections that included the Building Science Department at Auburn.
