IN THE NEWS: Speedway, Indiana, looks to refurbish abandoned homes

(Indianapolis Star) The town of Speedway, Indiana, has begun a five-year program to buy and refurbish abandoned homes, many of them foreclosed upon — which makes the effort a perfect fit for The Fuller Center for Housing’s Save a House/Make a Home program. Town manager Barbara Lawrence talks about how they want to fix up 20 to 25 foreclosed homes and discussed how The Fuller Center of Central Indiana already has begun changing lives in Speedway, including with a new home build last year.
