IN THE NEWS: Shreveport Times reports on Roger Waters-funded veterans build
The Shreveport Times reports on this year’s build for veterans — funded mainly by a $300,000 donation by Pink Floyd founding member Roger Waters. Times writer Melody Brumble profiles Cliff Malone, who served in the first Gulf War and then Iraq and Afghanistan and will be one of the new Fuller Center homeowners. Malone, 44, was formerly homeless and battled through PTSD. Now, he runs HOPE House, a day shelter for the homeless in Shreveport. An average of 100 people drop by the shelter each day to take a shower, check mail or sign up for case management services.
