Registration now open for fall Millard Fuller Legacy Build in Opelika, Alabama
Chattahoochee Fuller Center Project Executive Director Kim Roberts announced today that registration is now under way for the 2023 Millard Fuller Legacy Build, at which volunteers from across the country will converge in Opelika, Alabama, to build three new Fuller Center homes alongside families in need of simple, decent places to live.
The Fuller Center last worked in Opelika as part of the 2019 Millard Fuller Legacy Build, which helped families impacted by a devastating tornado that struck Lee County earlier that year.
The Millard Fuller Legacy Build honors the late Presidential Medal of Freedom honoree who founded Habitat for Humanity in 1976 and The Fuller Center for Housing in 2005.
The build will kick off with a dinner and celebration on Sunday, October 8, at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, which will host evening meals throughout the build week. Build days are Monday through Friday, October 9-13, with house dedications slated for that Friday afternoon.
