Registration now open for Bicycle Adventure’s 2022 rides, including new routes
The Fuller Center Bike Adventure has officially opened registration for its 2022 rides, including its annual cross-country summer Adventure.
In 2022, the 10-week cross-country ride will go coast to coast through 14 northern states beginning May 20 in Seaside, Oregon, and concluding July 31 in the Sebago Lakes region of Maine. For the first time, the Adventure will touch all five Great Lakes along the way, while also visiting such sites as Glacier National Park and Niagara Falls. The ride also will feature seven rewarding build days with Fuller Center covenant partners.
One of the new routes offers an opportunity to escape the late winter cold with a Gulf Coast ride from Laguna Beach, Florida, to Galveston, Texas. Beginning Feb. 26 and ending March 13, the 700-mile ride includes three build days as cyclists help families recover from recent disasters.
Another new option is the Underground Railroad Ride, a four-week journey taking cyclists from Lake Pontchartrain to Lake Erie, mirroring the historic paths many slaves once took to freedom. The ride is May 27 to June 26.
Interested cyclists are encouraged to register as soon as possible to claim their spots as these rides are expected to fill up — such as the Jan. 7-17 Tour de Florida from Central Florida to Key West, which is already full. You can register for whole rides or segments. The Bicycle Adventure also will need communications interns and support staff, such as van drivers.
Since the first Adventure in 2008, the rides have raised awareness for The Fuller Center for Housing’s nonprofit ministry and more than $3.4 million to build and repair homes.
