IN THE NEWS: Illinois Valley Fuller Center, Rivermen hockey team honor veteran

(WMBD-TV) From Nov. 1 through Veterans Day, the Illinois Valley Fuller Center for Housing held its annual "Joining Hands to Thank Veterans" program, during which they present local veterans with plaques and gift cards donated by businesses to thank them for their service to our country. The program also helps the local Fuller Center get to know veterans, who are their main focus of service in the community. On Veterans Day, WMBD-TV was on hand as the Peoria Rivermen hockey team — the entire team — helped The Fuller Center deliver a surprise thank-you to Vietnam veteran Thomas Johnson, a huge hockey fan and Rivermen season ticket holder.
