IN THE NEWS: New York Times' debate on volunteerism features Fuller Center

(New York Times) Editors from the New York Times contacted The Fuller Center for Housing last week for input on a discussion topic they were featuring on their Opinion page’s "Room for Debate" section — "Can ‘Voluntourism’ Make a Difference?’" Director of Communications Chris Johnson responded with a piece that points out that our Global Builders who make trips with us internationally are (1) working way too hard for it to be considered "voluntourism" and (2) making a tangible difference in the communities they serve. The debate also features pieces by columnist Rafia Zakaria, BrightCo’s Pippa Biddle, human rights workers Amy Ernst and professor Linda Richeter of the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.
