New homes, new beginnings celebrated in Braga, Portugal
BRAGA, Portugal — Four families celebrated a milestone this past weekend as they received the keys to new homes built through a partnership that has brought together local leaders and Fuller Center Global Builders volunteers.
Fuller Center Vice President of International Programs Ryan Iafigliola joined the celebration in Braga, where four homes in a six-unit project are now complete. The new homeowners are families from Syria, Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo who have found a new home in Portugal. The remaining two units will serve Portuguese families.
Over the course of the project, Global Builders teams have worked alongside The Fuller Center’s local partners to help transform the building into safe, beautiful homes. This weekend, that work gave way to celebration as families stepped through their doors and began a new chapter.
The photos below capture a day filled with new keys, grateful families and the joy that comes when a house finally becomes a home.
