Mercy Home for Boys & Girls enjoys another life-changing U.S. Builders trip

CLARKSDALE, Mississippi — Mercy Home for Boys and Girls youth care worker Sarah Kelley said last year’s U.S. Builders Trip to volunteer in the heat of the Mississippi Delta was a life-changing week for that team, so she was interested to see if a new group this year would have a similar experience. They did indeed — and then some, she reports in a new blog post from Mercy Home about the service trip.

In an excerpt from this excellent blog post about the trip, Kelley says: “It’s the same reason why kids don’t go to school 12 months out of the year. Summer is a break in the cadence of what you’re learning and an opportunity to learn in a different way.”
