Manual: Dealing with "shelter in place" orders

If your locality is under a local, state or federal “shelter in place” order, we ask that you:
  • If you are working, follow your state and city guidelines as to whether residential construction is an essential service. Limit the number of people on a site to 10.
  • Temporarily close Fuller Center ReUse Stores to the public.
  • Close offices to outside visitors, including suspending homeowner education classes. Consider requiring all staff who are able to work remotely from their homes to do so.
  • Consider being proactive in offering mortgage hardship forbearance options. Many cities and states have taken measures to halt evictions and foreclosures. Mortgage forbearance is an agreement between you and the mortgage holder that allows them to either stop making payments, or lower payments on a temporary basis during hardship.
  • Any of our Fuller Center partners who have paid staff are encouraged to apply for the Paycheck Protection Program, if you have not done so already. Find an approved lender for the PPP. Contact your local banker first to see if it is approved for this program or can refer you to an approved lender. Get your application in as soon as possible.
  • Contact Stacey Driggers at sdriggers@fullercenter.org or Cathy Smith at csmith@fullercenter.org if you need more information or assistance.

Search for a topic in the manual:

Helpful hint: If you want to search for a specific topic in the Operations Manual, search for the word “manual” followed by a “+” sign and then a specific term. For example, if you want to know more about hammers, you would search for “manual+hammers”.
