The Excitement is Building was the title of one of Millard Fuller’s many books. The statement is as true today as it was when Millard wrote the book. At this moment, the excitement is building in Indianapolis. The week of September 3-10 (build dates are Sept. 5-10) the Central Indiana Fuller Center and about 300 out-of-town volunteers will build seven new homes, two ReNew homes and 12 Greater Blessing rehabs. For the first time at a blitz build, all three of the Fuller Center’s building programs will be going on at the same time.
The neighborhood we will be working in is called Fountain Square. Fountain Square’s history goes back one-hundred years. Like many neighborhoods in large cities, it has aged and in some places, very badly. But under the leadership of Southeast Neighborhood Development (SEND), a local non-profit, the neighborhood is going through a Renaissance.
The new homes and repairs done during the Legacy Build will fit nicely into work that has already been done and the work being planned for the future. Come join us to experience the excitement! See what can be done when people come together to do God’s work. A few volunteer slots are still open. Please click here for more details and to register for the big event.
See you in Indianapolis!
