Higher Ground on the Bayou-Flood Recovery Build 2017
Come and be part of helping Ginger Ford Northshore Fuller Center rebuild flood damaged homes in Hammond, Louisiana during the week of April 24-27th.
Ginger Ford Northshore Fuller Center for Housing experienced 2 devastating floods last year. In March 2016, over 5000 houses flooded and just 5 months later, approximately 10,000 houses flooded in Tangipahoa Parish and another 30,000 flooded in Livingston Parish-both of these areas are serviced by Ginger Ford Northshore Fuller Center.
Come and help be part of the recovery!
The work for the week will be restoring 5 flood damaged homes- all located within 20 minutes of each other. Work will include insulation, trim carpentry and drywall repairs.
Out of town registration: $150 per person– includes Sunday dinner, Monday-Thursday continental breakfast at volunteer lodging, Monday-Thursday lunch at site, Monday-Wednesday dinner, Thursday dinner is on your own. Registration fee also includes event t-shirt. Check in dates are Sunday, April 23rd after 3:00 p.m.and check out is Friday, April 28th by 11: a.m.. All other check in and check out times must be pre-arranged in writing.
Local registration: $20 per day per person- includes lunch and water at the site, event t-shirt, and volunteer insurance. Optional Sunday (April 23, 2017) night kick off dinner is $10.

Volunteer lodging will be at First Presbyterian Church of Hammond-volunteer lodging will be on air mattresses with shower facilities. A continental breakfast will be included with volunteer lodging. Space is limited and will be on a first come basis. Please mark on your registration that you would like to reserve a spot in volunteer lodging. Volunteer lodging check-in for the Bayou Build begins after 3 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2017 and check-out is before 11 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2017. Out of town registration fees include continental breakfast at volunteer lodging Monday through Thursday-lunch on the build sites Monday-Thursday, and dinner Sunday-Wednesday. Thursday dinner is on your own.
The nearest major airport is located 38.5 miles away in New Orleans at the Louis Armstrong International Airport. Transportation will not be included to and from airport for the conference.
