Global Home Challenge concludes as a resounding success: The virus didn’t win!
With the coronavirus putting a halt to this year’s spring and summer Fuller Center Bicycle Adventure rides, THe Fuller Center for Housing’s mission of helping families around the world have simple, decent places to live was set to endure a major fundraising blow. But Vice President of International Operations Ryan Iafigliola, Global Builders Coordinator Ian Burkes and Bicycle Adventure Coordinator Courtney Fields put their heads together and came up with a virtual solution — the Global Home Challenge, a virtual trip around the world through 80 countries in 80 days with a goal of participants logging 50,000 miles and $200,000.
And thanks to enthusiastic participants and generous supporters, the Challenge that officially ended on Sunday has exceeded expectations, raising more than $227,000 and logging more than 74,000 miles. In the fun little video below, some of our Global Home Challengers celebrate the success and make sure we all know that the “stupid coronavirus” didn’t win!
