Registration now open for first Legacy Build of year in Fitzgerald, Georgia
The 2025 Millard Fuller Legacy Build in the South Georgia community of Fitzgerald — our first in that beautiful small town — was a huge success, and we’re doing it again March 1-21 this year. We’d love for you to join us on the worksite!
The build is hosted by the Fitzgerald Fuller Center for Housing and supported by our partners at Together for Hope and Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Georgia. Once again, Dave Diffendal brings his energy, enthusiasm and building skills back to Georgia as house captain.
There are three build weeks to choose from during the March 1-21 event. Registration is being handled by our friends at Together for Hope, and you can register at this link.
Be sure to check out the video at the bottom of this post to catch up with the Morris family, our wonderful homeowner partners for the 2025 build — an event that lifted spirits and united this beautiful Southern town. We visited the Morrises a few months ago, and they are very happy not only for how this new home has changed their lives — and they’re equally thrilled to have new Fuller Center neighbors coming soon just around the corner from their house.
Meanwhile, mark your calendars for a couple more blitz builds coming soon:
- The Big Event Build (also to be led by Dave Diffendal) will be April 6-24 in Americus, Georgia. Georgia Southwestern State University will be sending many young volunteers for this build, but we definitely will need more experienced volunteers who know their way around a Fuller Center build. Registration will open soon.
- The next Millard Fuller Legacy Build after Fitzgerald will be May 3-9, 2026 in Carroll County, Virginia. This is a popular location for volunteers, so expect to see some familiar faces returning to this job site. Registration will also open soon for this build.
There are plenty of other opportunities for you to build with us through our busy Disaster ReBuilders in North Carolina, our Global Builders program, the U.S. Builders, and, of course, with local Fuller Center covenant partners across the nation. Learn more at fullercenter.org/volunteer.
No matter where or how you choose to serve — or if you support this ministry by giving or spreading the word — thank you for Building a Better World and living out the Theology of the Hammer with us.
