IN THE NEWS: Families move into Jackson Street homes in Gary, Indiana

(Chicago Tribune, Northwest Indiana Times) "We have plans to not just transform this block but to transform the community," Gary, Indiana, Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson said Thursday as the keys to two Fuller Center homes were handed to their owners during a celebration on Jackson Street, including a new home directly across the street from where the famous musical Jackson family was raised. "The Jackson family is actively involved and purchased some homes in the 2300 block. We’re excited what this means for the city and community. This is what happens when government, the private sector, and nonprofits work together."
