Englishman Tim Bruce talks about his uniquely American experience on Bicycle Adventure

Retiring after 35 years working with the UK’s public housing sector, Chilcompton, England’s Tim Bruce was ready for a challenge — and he found it with The Fuller Center Bicycle Adventure this year, riding more than 3,500 miles from Seattle to Washington, D.C. It turned out to be an arduous yet uplifting journey as his local newspaper The Journal reports in a new feature story. Mr. Bruce fell in love with The Fuller Center’s ministry and will be back in the States next week for the Millard Fuller Legacy Build in Beauregard, Alabama. “I love the ethos of this charity; it’s not a hand-out, it’s a hand up — giving something back to people who have lost their homes, or perhaps their pride, confidence or ability,” he tells The Journal.
