Ecuador
Ecuador
Ecuador is a small country in northwestern South America that is bisected by the Equator, for which it is named. The climate is tropical along the coast and in the Amazon rain forest but is cooler inland at higher elevations. Its unparalleled location creates one of the most diverse habitats for wildlife and vegetation in the world. In this natural paradise, however, economic inequality is visible in both urban and rural areas. A vast migration of native indigenous people and farm workers to the big cities has exacerbated unemployment, lack of education and extreme poverty.
The Fuller Center Ecuador, established in the fall of 2025, will partner with families living in rural areas to provide housing opportunities they could otherwise never have. The purpose is to secure decent housing and create an environment in rural communities to prevent migration to saturated urban areas. Working together with these communities, we will help them rebuild their houses to reasonable sanitary standards. We will provide the capital to help them build new homes so they can pay the cost forward on a no-profit, no-interest loan.
