Disabled Vietnam War veteran gets help with home repairs in Joplin, Missouri
The Joplin Area Fuller Center for Housing joined forces with a veterans advocacy group and Home Depot to perform major repairs on the home of disabled Vietnam War veteran Larry Day, 71, and his wife, Mary, at this link. According to this story from the Joplin Globe newspaper, several veterans lent their skills and efforts to the project, as well.
“We love helping veterans, but we do it for not only veterans, but for everyone,” Joplin Area Fuller Center President Dan King told the Globe. “We ask the clients to pay for the materials, and they can pay this over time with no interest because we take that same money and buy materials for someone else to pay it forward.”
