Day 3: Tabernacle, NJ to Kensington, PA
By Everett Collier
Saturday evening my wife texted me the verse of Psalm 62:8 Trust in Him at all times, o people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us.
We felt and witnessed this refuge yesterday and this morning in Tabernacle, New Jersey. The folks at Lord of Life Lutheran Church opened their church and hearts in numerous ways during our stay with them. A chance to be a part of the church service and for Melissa to share her story and the Fuller Center for Housing mission was truly a blessing. Thank you to Pastor Jones and the congregation and the folks at the New Jersey Pines Fuller Center.
Today’s ride was a short one to Philadelphia, PA, with a stop in Camden, NJ. The weather was great with the temperature reaching into the 80s with slight humidity. There in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia we settled into the open arms of Mike, Shane, and Katie at The Simple Way. We enjoyed a cookout and had a chance to listen to the story of The Simple Way and the new Simple Homes Fuller Center that they are involved in. Tomorrow we will help The Simple Way with some of their work in the community.
