President Snell: Chuck Vogt has left a great legacy through his exemplary leadership
The following is Fuller Center for Housing President David Snell’s statement on the passing of long-time Fuller Center for Housing of Central Indiana leader Chuck Vogt, who died on Saturday:
Millard Fuller often said that the greatest need we have at The Fuller Center is for leaders. Chuck Vogt exemplified what that leader should be. He helped found the Fuller Center in Indianapolis and led the organization until the end of his life. He was a hard-driving, no-nonsense and incredibly charitable man. The work he led sets a high bar for Fuller Center covenant partners across the country. Thirty-two families now have a decent place to call home thanks to that good work. What a great legacy!
That legacy is shared with Chuck’s wife, Joyce, who stood by his side throughout his Fuller Center work and supported him through his illness. Five years ago he was diagnosed with leukemia and given six months to live. His indomitable spirit refused to accept that diagnosis, and he continued to work until near the very end.
Chuck was an accomplished woodworker and I have a cross that he fashioned in my office. I can look at it now and be reminded of this kind and gentle man whom I respected greatly. I imagine that he and Millard are together now, swapping tales about the work they did together. How grateful we can be that our faith assures us that, despite the sorrow of these separations, the time will come when we are all together again.

The Tom Foster Family
A true man of God who set a great example for many of us with his faith, hard work and kindness. We will miss him on earth but will see him again one day.
Little could I have known years ago, at Joyce and Chuck’s beautiful wedding, what a wonderful journey the two would travel together, what a wondrous gift they would both be to God and to mankind, but I certainly could have guessed and predicted! You see, they’ve always had all the “right stuff”! Our beloved Chuck will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered always!
So sorry for your loss. Chuck was everything and more of what everyone has said here. He was a great example of what God wants us to be for Him. My condolences to Joyce and her family.
