Celebrating 5 years, raising $5 million! — VIDEO

We are delighted to announce that in honor of The Fuller Center’s fifth anniversary, we’ve set a goal to raise $5 million dollars throughout 2010.

In the U.S. $5 million will build over 80 houses. Rehab possibilities are endless: 10,000 wheelchair ramps could be built for handicapped homeowners; materials to replace 2,000 leaking, dangerous roofs could be purchased: 15,000 broken doors and windows could be replaced and energy-saving insulation could be blown into 4,000 attics.

The initiative was launched as part of the ongoing Millions for Millard campaign.

Millions for Millard began in 2009 in honor of Millard Fuller’s lifelong pursuit to end poverty housing. The goal is to build or renovate homes for 1 million people and host 1 million volunteers over 15 years. The first part of that aim was to raise $1 million dollars–which we accomplished six weeks ahead of the deadline.

Even more success in 2010 is possible with the help of our loyal supporters. We’ve done a little math and determined that if each of our 24,000 registered supporters signed up to be a monthly donor, designating that $25 be given each month, we would easily reach our goal!

A million people in decent housing
A million volunteers and donors to make it happen
Celebrating five years, raising $5 million
Millions for Millard!

This will require a huge investment of time, talent and resources. The Fuller Center is a faith-based movement and as Millard always said, “With God, all things are possible!”
