The City of Beech Grove is located in the southeast portion of Marion County and is part of the Greater Indianapolis Metropolitan area. Beech Grove is a city with nearly 15,000 residents who enjoy the benefits of a small town and the amenities of a large city. With just 4.3 square miles of land and no new housing stock the Beech Grove Fuller Center for Housing’s primary focus will be working with the Greater Blessing Box repair program.

History:

The Beech Grove Fuller Center for Housing was established in February 2010. In the spring of 2009, Mayor Joe Wright was introduced to the mission and work of the Fuller Center for Housing and urged the Beech Grove Faith-based Roundtable to get involved with the organization. As a committee of Central Indiana Fuller Center for Housing, the Faith-based Roundtable undertook its first Greater Blessing project in August 2009. A Beech Grove resident, Lola, had been cited by the health department for the condition of her garage. Having no money or the physical capability to make the repairs, the Roundtable stepped up to make the necessary repairs. When the Roundtable saw the joy in Lola’s face at the completion of the project and received requests from other residents in need, it realized that the City of Beech Grove needed a full-time Fuller Center ministry. A small group of Roundtable members volunteered to create the Beech Grove Fuller Center for Housing.
