Baton Rouge newspaper catches up with Bicycle Adventurers as they help hurricane victims in Hammond, Louisiana
HAMMOND, La. — Baton Rouge Advocate reporter Vic Couvillion caught up with a group of 25 Fuller Center Bicycle Adventure cyclists as they hopped off their bikes midway through the inaugural two-week Gulf Coast ride for a pair of build days with the Ginger Ford Northshore Fuller Center for Housing, which has teamed up with the Fuller Center Disaster ReBuilders to help families impacted by Hurricane Ida last year. In this article, Adventure leader Neil Mullikin explains that while the riders love cycling and being together, the ultimate purpose of the ride is to help families have decent places to live — by raising money and awareness for The Fuller Center for Housing’s affordable housing ministry or by hopping off of their bikes and putting their faith into action.
