Armenian family still in celebration mode with new home, haven’t taken down Christmas tree
GANDAZAKAR, Armenia — The Iskandaryans have been living in a semi-built structure for 13 years, leaving them without many basic necessities. Now that Fuller Center Armenia and Viva-MTS have teamed up to help them finish the job, the family is in a celebratory mood — so much so that they haven’t even taken down their Christmas tree yet.
”After so many years of hardships, I have finally calmed down as we have a new home,” the mother, Nelly, said. “We have managed to have several celebrations here. As a woman and a mother, I am happy that my dreams are fulfilled; my children have a good education and will live in a beautiful house. … Now, we will live a decent life.”
