55-home community dedicated in Ahuachapán, El Salvador; many more to come

Thanks to Fuller Center supporters including New Story Charity, outstanding local leadership from Gente Ayudando Gente (People Helping People), local government cooperation and excellent work by local laborers and partner families, a community of 55 new Fuller Center homes have been dedicated in the community of Ahuachapán, El Salvador.

This new 55-home community is less than a mile from a 91-home community of Fuller Center homes completed in 2017 and 2018.

“To help even one family move from a dilapidated house of mud, sticks and plastic to a simple, but beautiful home of their own with solid walls, a dry roof, running water, and a flush toilet would be enough to make anyone smile,” said Fuller Center Vice President of International Programs Ryan Iafigliola, who has made multiple trips to El Salvador. “To see that process completed for 55 families all at once is a wonder to behold. More than building homes, we’ve been part of establishing a new community, where families will care for not only their own homes but for each other.”

Soon, The Fuller Center will break ground on a community of at least 150 new homes adjacent to a 77-home community The Fuller Center completed in 2016 in Nuevo Cuscatlán, El Salvador.
