The Chattahoochee Fuller Center Project (CFCP), epicenter of the 2009 Millard Fuller Legacy Build, has selected the six families in Lanett, Ala., who will receive brand-new homes during the week of Aug. 30 to Sept. 4.
The announcement was made Thursday night to all of the young women, who met thinking they were going to have a discussion about homeownership. They expressed shock and gratitude and were excited about an improved future for their children.
“I feel like I just won a lottery,” said Marilyn Loyd, the mother of two small children and one of the women chosen to receive a new Fuller Center home. “…I can now set a better example for my kids. They can now grow up in a better environment than the projects.”

The Fuller Center for Housing’s newest covenant partner located in Kinston, N.C. is in the midst of a project to renovate multiple homes including many that need wheelchair accessibility.
Local organizations will partner with the Fuller Center throughout the summer as they work to improve housing in the area. This week, Jun. 23-27, the Fuller Center is partnering with a summer youth work camp program called Erasing the Lines. Erasing the Lines is a part of Son Set Ministries.

Father’s Day is approaching and the Fuller Center is celebrating its founding father, Millard Fuller. Now we want to help you celebrate the fathers in your lives.
At the memorial service for Millard Fuller, his four children–Chris, Kim, Faith and Georgia–each presented the top three lessons they learned from their father. You can read them here.
