Darke County
Location
The Darke County Ohio Fuller Center for Housing is the rebirth of a ministry established as a non-profit housing ministry originally affiliated with Habitat for Humanity International for over 15 years. Located in west central Ohio and bordered by the state of Indiana, we are a rural county deeply committed to our agricultural and Christian roots. Our leadership believes in getting back to the basics of the Gospel of Jesus and the grassroots ministry that Millard and Linda have shown us by their example.
We currently serve the people of our county of approximately 54,000, with one city of 13,000 and several villages. Our ministry has built 15 houses and refurbished several others, plus untold additions and other various projects. Our ministry strives to do at least one Greater Blessing project per month.
Millard Fuller Legacy Build Project:
Darke County Fuller Center has already started working on a Greater Blessing Box project that will be dedicated during the week of the Millard Fuller Legacy Build. The project is for a handicapped lady that has been taking care of her mother who has Alzheimer’s. The house has been neglected for several years and is need of many repairs. Darke County Fuller Center has taken on this project with the help of many of the neighbors and looks forward to improving the home and the neighborhood.
Partnering with the local Boy Scouts to help with Greater Blessing Box projects has proven to be very beneficial to Darke County Fuller Center. They have helped replace wheelchair ramps and worked on various other projects while serving along side other volunteers in the community.
Needs for Darke County Fuller Center:
- Project and ReUse Store volunteers are always welcome: We will train to do whatever your abilities and ambitions direct you to do. Fellowship is the cornerstone of our efforts and all are welcome. Coffee and prayer is always available for free at the ReUse Store and not always in that order. Sometimes we pray the coffee will be better the next day.
- Volunteers for Committee membership is also welcome, Family Selection, Fundraising, Project Selection, Construction and Church Relations.
We rejoice that God has given us this mission to show our commitment to help his people in need.
